Last month's violent assault on Frankie Zarazua, a longtime valet at Barney's Beanery in West Hollywood, has led to an arrest, as reported by KTLA. Zarazua, attacked on September 14, sustained critical injuries after being punched and kicked by an unidentified male now in custody under suspicion of attempted murder, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Surveillance footage from the incident depicted a shirtless man brutally assaulting Zarazua, who has been serving as a valet for about 30 years, causing him to fall and lose consciousness from a strike to the face and then suffering multiple kicks to his head and upper body, details ABC7. This same suspect was linked to other attacks the same night and the Sheriff's Department is expected to release more information at a news conference scheduled for Tuesday morning.
In addition to the physical ramifications experienced by Zarazua, a financial burden has been placed on his family; a GoFundMe page was set up to assist with medical expenses, having raised over $50,000 thus far, as per FOX LA. AJ Sacher, a colleague of Zarazua's at Barney’s Beanery, characterized the incident as "horrific, sad and fills you with anger that somebody could do that to somebody else" in a statement obtained from NBC Los Angeles.
