Authorities have apprehended 23-year-old Tyler Mobley of Sunrise, Florida, in connection with the fatal drive-by shooting of 18-year-old Bryanna Nina, an incident that shook the North Lauderdale community back in July. The Local 10 News reported that the Broward Sheriff's Office announced the arrest yesterday, placing Mobley, who already had a criminal record with probation terms stemming from past offenses of fleeing and eluding, carrying a concealed firearm, and burglary, behind bars on a first-degree murder charge along with several probation violations.
Bryanna Nina was waiting for an Uber on July 15 near Southwest 76th Avenue and Tam O'Shanter Boulevard when she was shot multiple times. Witnesses reported that several suspects got out of a vehicle and opened fire, with Mobley identified as one of them. He was arrested yesterday at sunrise and is currently being held without bond, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office. This arrest adds a serious crime to his history of previous legal issues.
Nina's mother, Marisol Rivas, shared her grief with NBC Miami, remembering Bryanna as a "Very strong individual, beautiful inside and out. She was loved by too many people. Outgoing, very outspoken, very strong individual, she was so sweet, she was always so helpful with everybody."
Detectives informed Nina's family that she was not the intended target of the shooting.
