A fatal shooting in Northeast has led to the extradition and charging of a wanted suspect. The victim, a 53-year-old woman named Teresa Francisco, was found with fatal gunshot wounds in a vehicle on the 900 block of Eastern Avenue, Northeast, last Tuesday, October 1, as the Metropolitan Police Department recently reported.
Following the incident, police named 48-year-old Wyatt Michelin Swan as the suspect. He was apprehended the next day, October 2, in a joint effort by the City of Bowie Police Department and Prince George's County Police Department. Swan, who has been charged with first-degree murder while armed (premeditated), was brought back to Washington, D.C., yesterday to face his charges.
The relationship between Francisco and Swan was reported to have been romantic, leading authorities to consider the killing a domestic violence case. This angle was a determining factor in the investigation conducted by MPD’s detectives.
The Metropolitan Police Department extended gratitude for the continued partnership and assistance in the case to the neighboring Prince George’s County law enforcement, according to a statement by the MPD. This collaboration between agencies played a critical role in the swift arrest and subsequent extradition of Swann.
