A trio has been arrested and charged after a Verizon store in Middletown was hit by an aggravated robbery and kidnapping incident on Sunday. Middletown police report that two of the suspects entered the store and coerced an employee into the inventory room, while a third acted as an accomplice.
Authorities say the suspects made off with highly coveted electronics, including Apple iPhones, iPads, and Samsung phones, after forcing the employee to comply with their demands. WLWT states, "The suspects fled the scene in a Pontiac G6, traveling south on Interstate 75."
The suspects, 25-year-old Dazion Strattman, 27-year-old Rondell Evans, and 30-year-old Devontrae Williams, were eventually located and apprehended in Cincinnati. This collaborative effort involved Green Township, Cincinnati, and Cheviot officers. All three individuals are now facing charges of aggravated robbery and kidnapping.
All the information was confirmed by Middletown police, who received the initial distress call following the incident. In a report obtained by Local12, the police provided an account of the robbery and subsequent arrest of the suspects. The white Pontiac involved was identified and traced back to Cincinnati, which led to the apprehension of the suspects.
Middletown Division of Police is encouraging anyone with any further information about the incident to contact Detective Connor Kirby at 513-425-7736 or through email at [email protected], as reiterated by WHIO.
