
Tacoma police are on the hunt for a suspect involved in an attempted kidnapping that occurred over the past weekend. A teen girl reported she was forcibly taken into a vehicle by an unidentified male, setting in motion an immediate investigation by local authorities. The incident was first responded to around 11 a.m. yesterday and began when the suspect allegedly followed the teen for several blocks before making his move near the 1700 block of Pacific Avenue. According to the girl's account, provided by Tacoma police, the unnamed man drove her to the 3000 block of 6th Avenue. Subsequently, upon stopping at a store on the same avenue, the girl seized the moment of his absence, fleeing from the car and contacting authorities for help. This detail of her escape was highlighted by MYNORTHWEST, emphasizing a moment of fortitude amidst fear when an opportunity presented itself.
The suspect, still at large, has been described by Tacoma police as a Hispanic male, approximately in his 50s, standing 5-foot-6, and weighing 150-160 pounds. To aid in their search, authorities released an image of the man along with pictures of the vehicle thought to be involved in the abduction attempt. These images, disseminated to garner public assistance, were shared in a report by KING5.
