
A woman in Tampa sustained "significant" injuries after being struck by a vehicle late Tuesday evening on Hillsborough Avenue. The incident took place around 10 p.m. in the 1700 block of East Hillsborough Avenue and resulted in the closure of the westbound lanes at North 17th Street for multiple hours, as reported by WFLA News Channel 8.
The Tampa Police Department confirmed that the woman was taken to Tampa General Hospital with injuries deemed significant, the driver, however, did not flee the scene and is cooperating with ongoing investigations, while the cause of the crash is yet to be fully understood, the lanes, they did reopen shortly after 12:30 a.m., according to WTSP.
