Police in Tarentum are on the lookout for a suspect following a robbery at a local Par Mar Gas Station last Saturday evening. According to WTAE, the incident occurred just after 7:40 p.m. at the store located at the intersection of Mile Lock Lane and 1st Avenue. The suspect, still at large, is described as approximately five feet, five inches tall weighs around 150 pounds, and was last seen running toward Brackenridge Avenue.
Surveillance footage reviewed by Tarentum police revealed the suspect's attire at the time of the robbery: a black hoodie, sweatpants, a black bandana obscuring his face, and notably, black and red gloves. While the authorities have not disclosed whether the individual was armed or the amount stolen, the safety of the cashier involved was affirmed by local customer Lou Veri, "They’re out there working, and some people don’t even want to work, I’m just saying, it’s scary to have to have somebody come in here," Veri told WPXI.
The Tarentum community, shaken by the event, recalls a previous robbery of the same establishment some years past. Community member David Zembrowski expressed his dismay to WPXI, stating, “That would be the second time it was robbed. About 4-5 years ago it was robbed once.” To apprehend the suspect, Tarentum police are urging residents to check their doorbells and surveillance cameras for any potential evidence that could lead to an identification.
