Last Wednesday, Tarrant County Sheriff's Office (TCSO) deputies pulled over a vehicle in a routine traffic stop that rapidly escalated into a scene right out of an action flick. According to the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office, an individual in the car threw an AR-15 pistol with a loaded magazine out the back window onto the highway, turning a routine procedure into an arms recovery operation.
The AR-15 pistol, equipped with a 30-round loaded magazine, was swiftly recovered by the deputies. The driver and the front passenger were detained at the scene while the person who most likely flung the weapon made a run for it. In the subsequent manhunt, TCSO called in reinforcements: additional TCSO patrol units, K-9 units, and the aid of Fort Worth Police Department (FWPD) patrol units along with FWPD Air-1.
The search did not drag on for long. In short order, the suspect was located, apprehended, and booked into TCSO jail, facing charges of Evading and Unlawfully Carrying Weapons (UCW). The Tarrant County Sheriff's Office praised the collaborative effort, stating, "Great work TCSO & thank you Fort Worth Police Department for the assist!"
