Teenager Charged with Robbery After Quick MPD Response in Northwest D.C.

The Metropolitan Police Department swiftly apprehended a young suspect following a recent robbery in the Northwest sector of the city. According to an official statement released by the MPD, officers were dispatched to the scene in the 2500 block of 13th Street, Northwest on Wednesday, after receiving a report of a robbery at around 10:23 p.m.

The victim described an incident where her cell phone was taken from her grasp by the perpetrator, who then fled. Through the efforts of the MPD’s Real Time Crime Center, authorities were able to locate the stolen phone — and consequently the alleged thief. An arrest was made, and the victim’s property was recovered.

The individual apprehended in this case is a 14-year-old male from the Southeast area of Washington, D.C., who has now been charged with robbery.
