The investigation into the murder of Mallory Lyric Warden has led to the arrest of three additional individuals, now facing serious charges linked to the tragic event and a series of armed robberies. Among them is Aspen Leigh Cagle, a 15-year-old from Ball Ground, charged with felony murder and felony robbery. Madison Alina Grace Perez, 19, from Ellijay, has been charged with felony murder, and Elizabeth "Rylie" Sue Henson, 17, also from Ball Ground, faces felony robbery charges, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta.
The Gilmer County Sheriff's Office emphasized the ongoing nature of their investigation, clarifying that these charges stem from a group conspiracy to commit, a series of armed robberies across Ellijay and Jasper—in one of which, Warden was fatally shot. The 19-year-old was discovered with a gunshot wound inside a car on South Main Street in Ellijay on the night of September 19, 2024, and later succumbed to her injuries in the hospital. WSB-TV noted that while earlier arrests had been made, the three young women are the latest to be charged in the case.
Previously, two teenagers and one young man were apprehended in relation to Warden's death: 21-year-old Gray Anthony McClure, 17-year-old Robert Gabriel Shoilekov, and 18-year-old Davonnte Lavon Brehon, with 19-year-old Anthony Jared Inestruza Whisnant also facing felony murder charges. Together, these arrests form the grim mosaic of a crime that took the life of a young woman and shattered the tranquility of the North Georgia community.
Expressing determination to hold all accountable, Gilmer County Sheriff Stacy Nicholson stated, "We intend to charge everyone involved in this case, whether they were physically present or merely helped plan the crimes." He warned, "If you help someone commit a crime in any way, you will go to jail," indicating a no-tolerance approach to criminal complicity, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.
With the community reeling from these developments, the Sheriff's Office is preparing for the possibility of more arrests as more details emerge. The emphasis lies on a thorough and unremitting pursuit of justice for Warden and the promise that those involved will be held responsible for their roles in the crime. The case is indeed far from closed, and the truth continues to be pursued with vigor and resolve by the authorities.
