California Highway Patrol has announced the arrest of Victor Hugo France, Jr., a 43-year-old Vallejo man, in connection with a freeway shooting that occurred last month. According to a social media post by the CHP - Golden Gate Division, the incident took place on September 11, on Interstate 80, east of Tennessee Street, where witnesses reported seeing an individual discharging a firearm from a vehicle.
After the shooting, the CHP's Special Investigations Unit assumed the lead, piecing together a narrative from witness statements and Flock Safety camera technology. These sources contributed to pinpointing France as the prime suspect. During a routine search, numerous firearms and narcotics were recovered in the suspect's Vallejo home in the process of serving the warrants, which detectives did last Thursday.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident and is facing multiple charges, including negligently discharging a firearm and illegal possession of firearms and narcotics. As reported by the CHP, France has been booked into Solano County Jail. The cache of evidence found in France's residence included several firearms, ammunition, and a quantity of suspected narcotics.
