The constables recovered a stolen vehicle and apprehended a suspect who attempted to evade them first in the vehicle and then on foot yesterday. The incident began when deputies responded to a call about a vehicle break-in. On their way to the scene, they spotted a vehicle speeding away from the area, which was later confirmed as stolen. Despite the deputies' attempts to pull over the driver, he refused to comply, leading them on a chase. The car chase ended, but the suspect, identified as Malachi Rogers-Prince, decided to make a run for it, only to be swiftly caught by the law enforcement officers, according to a report by Constable Mark Herman's Office on Facebook.
Malachi Rogers-Prince now faces charges for his actions that day. "Malachi Rogers-Prince was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Evading in a Motor Vehicle. evading in a motor vehicle, and evading on foot. Applicable bond and court information is not available at this time," Constable Mark Herman stated in a Facebook post.
As of now, authorities have not released additional information about the circumstances surrounding the vehicle theft or the pursuit that ensued.
