Authorities in San Bernardino County are calling for the public's assistance following a fatal single-vehicle accident that claimed the life of a man in Victorville early Wednesday morning. The crash, involving a blue Chevrolet Silverado, occurred just before 6:00 a.m. at the intersection of Air Expressway and Nevada Avenue, according to a report by the VV Daily Press.
Responding deputies from the Victorville Station, along with Victorville Fire Department and American Medical Response, found the driver with severe injuries. After being taken to a local hospital, the driver was pronounced deceased. Released by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department, the identity of the man is being withheld until his family is notified, driving under the assumption that the name of the individual commands less urgency than the mechanics of the accident itself.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the driver's fatal encounter with fate remain unclear. The investigation has been handed over to the Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team. Deputies are reaching out to members of the community who might offer insights that illuminate the shadows.
Anyone who might have witnessed the crash or who possesses any information that could assist investigators is urged to come forward. Deputy M. Lee of the Victorville Police Station stands as the point of contact. Authorities have also provided an avenue for anonymous tips through the We-Tip hotline, seeking information that might have been veiled by the reticence of potential witnesses, in a statement obtained by Nixle.
