
A shootout erupted in the parking lot of a Warren McDonald’s on Friday afternoon, resulting in an active search for the persons involved, according to local authorities. As reported by FOX 2 Detroit, witnesses described sudden gunfire involving occupants of a white Chrysler 300 and a silver/gray sedan at the fast food outlet located at Van Dyke Avenue near Nine Mile Road. The incident took place around 5 p.m., with both vehicles said to have fled the scene shortly after.
The police have yet to report any injuries or make any arrests, and a statement obtained by ClickOnDetroit mentioned that "there are no known victims at this time, with all persons involved having fled the scene before officials arrived."
In an interview with FOX 2 Detroit, a mother, Aliysha Pace, recounted the frightening moment when gunfire broke out, recalling the harrowing decision to flee with her two young children in tow, saying, "We were beyond too close for me, for how where their car was sitting and where my car was sitting in the drive-thru lane, like my kids could’ve easily been shot in the backseat."
According to the Warren Police Department, numerous shell casings consistent with a shootout were found at the scene. Police are continuing their investigation, which includes reviewing CCTV video footage and speaking with witnesses to uncover more details surrounding the shocking daylight exchange of gunfire.
