The White Settlement Police Department has some laurels to add to its cap, as one of their own, Detective Geovanny Ramirez, has been honored with the prestigious 2024 Flock Safety Solved Award. This accolade came as part of the department's haul from the International Association of Chiefs of Police Conference, where they also nabbed the 2024 Community Safety Award earlier in the week. The awards are a nod to the department's efforts in crime-solving and community engagement.
In a post from the White Settlement Police Department's social media, Chief Christopher Cook commended Ramirez's dedication, stating, "This award demonstrates our commitment to solving serious and violent crimes while seeking justice for our victims. Detective Ramirez works hard behind the scenes to solve criminal cases through the use of technology." The department is looking to not only just acclaim its officers but also shine a light on the collaborative efforts between law enforcement and community members to foster a safer environment for all.
Officer Ramirez isn't just a detective—he's also a pivotal member of the WSPD Honor Guard and the Strategic Comms Team. His involvement across these various units within the department showcases the multifaceted approach that law enforcement can take in addressing the nuances of crime and its prevention.
