In a swift response to a violent crime, the White Settlement Police Department, with aid from the WEST COMM 911 dispatchers, apprehended 18-year-old Victor Escamilla Enriquez III, suspected of a recent shooting and aggravated robbery. The arrest was made within 36 hours following the incident, showcasing efficient police work in the face of violent criminal activities.

According to details provided by the White Settlement Police Department, the incident occurred on Thursday, and a man in his 20s was reported to have sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and a head injury resulting from being pistol-whipped. Arriving at John Peter Smith Hospital for emergency care, the victim recounted that the altercation took place in the 7700 block of Abbott Drive, where he had gone to sell vapes and rolled marijuana cigarettes to an acquaintance.

During that meeting, two assailants robbed the victim at gunpoint of his goods and other property. The victim complied with their demands, but as he was driving away from the location, he heard multiple gunshots and felt pain in his leg. With the help of a friend, he managed to get to the hospital.

Enriquez was spotted and detained without incident on Friday, exiting a car in the 1400 block of S. Cherry Lane near a convenience store. The police also seized the car that Enriquez was traveling in. The arrest brought Enriquez to the White Settlement Law Enforcement Center Jail, and the search for the potential second suspect is still in progress.
