Milton residents interested in the local coyote population can attend "Wildlife 101: Coyotes on the Move," a free talk on November 6 at Community Place next to City Hall. Brandon Sanders, an expert from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and the Atlanta Coyote Project, will be present to clarify myths and share facts about these often misunderstood animals, according to an announcement from the City of Milton.
The talk will address questions about coyotes in the area, including risks to pets and small children, their feeding habits, and their activity times. The event aims to help community members learn from a wildlife expert. Attendance is free, but space is limited, so interested participants are encouraged to register in advance to secure a spot.
For those who can't attend or want to learn more about local wildlife, this event may be the start of a series. City officials are using it to assess interest in future "Wildlife 101" sessions and welcome topic suggestions for outdoor education, including plant life, insect ecosystems, and other animals in the area, as noted in the same announcement.
Attendees can register for the session on the City of Milton's website, which also includes more details and the registration link. Those with topic suggestions for future talks can email [email protected].
