Attention: West Plant Street will be shut down temporarily for the West Orange High School Homecoming Parade this Thursday. According to the City of Winter Garden's official communication, the street closures will be in effect from 2 p.m. till 7:30 p.m., significantly affecting traffic flow in both directions: westbound from Woodland Ave. to Park Ave. and eastbound from Park Ave. to Dillard St. For those with vehicles parked along West Plant Street, be advised they must be moved before 2 p.m. or risk towing at the owner's expense.
Additionally, the Rainbow Lot located at Plant St. and Woodland St. will close starting at 1 p.m. on October 17, reopening following the parade's conclusion around 7:30 p.m. Signage will be posted, but let it be clear: Any vehicles left in the lot past the 1 p.m. deadline, will also be subject to towing at the owner's expense. Patrons planning to partake in the festivities should make alternative parking arrangements to avoid inconvenience.
The parade will commence at 6 p.m. and feature an enthusiastic march of participants up the north side of westbound Plant St. from Woodland Ave., making a full circle back to Woodland Ave. on the south side of Plant St. Public spectators, including students, teachers, parents, alumni, and community members, are encouraged to attend and support the event.
