Brace for some detours, Winter Park residents and visitors. The City of Winter Park has announced road closures for the upcoming Autumn Art Festival, which is slated for October 12th and 13th. According to a post by the City of Winter Park, several roads will be shut down to make way for the festivities, including portions of Park Avenue, Morse Blvd, and New England Avenue.

The closures will commence early at 3 a.m. on the 12th and run until 8 p.m. on the 13th, meaning planners should mark their calendars and prepare for a weekend of art, culture, and—inevitably—the seasonal traffic headache that nostalgia cannot solve. Park Avenue is particularly affected, as it is shuttered between Lyman & Canton Avenues. At the same time, Morse Blvd will see blockages between New York & Knowles Avenues and New England Avenue close between the railroad tracks & Center Street.
Local restaurants hoping to leverage the foot traffic from the art-loving crowds have until Friday, October 4th, to apply for outdoor service. Information and the necessary forms for obtaining permission can be found on the official website, as the city encourages businesses to make the most of this local cultural showcase.
