A discovery was made at the Carlisle Apartments in Southwest Houston, where a young mother, Kenia Guardado Molina, was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head after she did not arrive to pick up her son from the babysitter's home. Houston Police confirmed that Molina, 27, was last sighted on surveillance footage only hours before her body was located last Tuesday, as reported by FOX San Antonio.
The footage captured her in the company of an unidentified man, described by the authorities as a "person of interest" they appeared at ease with each other, mere steps from Molina's doorstep. Her absence raised immediate concern the following morning when she did not come for her 3-year-old son, prompting relatives to seek her out and the troubling discovery ensued. Molina's family, grieving and seeking answers, has shared their emotional burden from afar, with her sister Yolanda Isabel Guardado expressing her sorrow to ABC7 Amarillo, stating, "I wish I could tell her I love her and wish I could take care of her," while also mentioning that Kenia leaves behind another child, a 10-year-old daughter.
As authorities continue to investigate the events leading to Molina's death, police have not yet identified the man seen with her as a suspect. The Houston Police Department's investigation is ongoing.
