In a recent incident that shook the quiet town of Carver, Minnesota, a young store employee at Fleet Farm was the victim of a violent assault involving a stabbing. According to a social media post by the Carver County Sheriff's Office, the assault happened on November 24, at approximately 2:06 PM.

The response to the 9-1-1 call revealed that the victim, a 17-year-old female from Jordan, MN, suffered a stab wound to the neck. Emergency services were quick to provide medical aid, and she was subsequently transported to Hennepin Health in Minneapolis, where she was "in stable condition at the hospital," as stated by the Carver County Sheriff's Office. The assailant had fled the scene, but thanks to a witness, a vehicle description and license plate number were obtained, leading to the suspect's arrest after officers executed a high-risk traffic stop. The suspect, 31-year-old Gerald Dwayne Hudson from Kansas City, Kansas, with no known connection to the victim, was taken into custody without further incident, and there remains no ongoing risk to the public.

Following the assault, Carver County Sheriff Jason Kamerud issued an update stating, "Gerald Dwayne Hudson 31-years-of-age was identified as the suspect involved in the alleged stabbing incident at Fleet Farm in Carver, MN on 11/24/2024," the Carver County Sheriff's Office noted. Hudson's vehicle bearing the Kansas license plate 1986ADT was spotted westbound at the intersection of Hwy 212 and Hwy 41 and intercepted in Chanhassen, where he was apprehended in the Jersey Mike's parking lot. Hudson is currently held at the Carver County Jail, facing charges of 1st-degree assault and 2nd-degree assault with a dangerous weapon.
