Authorities have detained 17-year-old Juan Vasquez in relation to the fatal shooting that occurred on October 20 at an apartment complex at 7575 Office City Drive. According to City of Houston News, Vasquez is now facing murder charges in the 488th State District Court for the death of 24-year-old Brayan Rodriguez Baltodano.
Officers who responded to the scene around 4:20 p.m. discovered Baltodano unresponsive in the front passenger seat of a vehicle with at least one gunshot wound. Despite paramedics’ efforts, Baltodano was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators working the case quickly developed leads that identified Vasquez as the potential suspect, though the motive behind the shooting still remains unclear.
The arrest was carried out by the HPD Eastside Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team on Wednesday, as found in the official news release. With the investigation ongoing, authorities are urging anyone with further information to step forward and contribute to the case.
