An incident on Tidwell Road in Houston yesterday resulted in a fatality following a sudden crash. According to an update from the Houston Police Department (HPD), a two-year-old boy was fatally injured when the vehicle he was riding in crashed around 6:05 p.m. at the 9200 block of Tidwell Road.

The young passenger, whose name remains unreleased pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, was in a white Honda Pilot driven by a 15-year-old. The teenage driver is said to have lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and into a ditch, where it struck debris, "The Honda then struck debris in the ditch and came to a stop," detailed Sergeant F. Briones and Officer T. La from the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division, in a recent release by the HPD. The child was reportedly not secured in a child seat at the time of the collision.
