A tragic accident unfolded in Seminole County early Friday when a 20-year-old Winter Springs man lost his life after his SUV crashed through a gate and into a home. According to ClickOrlando, the Florida Highway Patrol reported that the incident happened around 2:30 a.m. at Clayton Crossing Way and Hidden Cypress Lane.
The young driver was heading north on Clayton Crossing Way and was supposed to slow down at the gated entrance of the Clayton Crossing subdivision. However, he failed to slow the vehicle properly and struck the gate. Continuing northward, his SUV did not manage to navigate a curve and abruptly went off the road, colliding with a nearby house, according to the crash report from FHP. Fortunately, no residents were in the home when the accident occurred.
According to WESH, the driver was swiftly taken to a hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. The FHP indicated the man was not wearing a seatbelt at the crash and further stated that their investigation was ongoing.
