The FBI’s Violent Crime Task Force and local authorities are on the lookout for a crew of ATM robbers in east Harris County, known as the "Camo Jacket Crooks." The name stems from the camouflage-patterned jackets worn by three of the suspects during their heist at a CVS store, as they stand accused of swiping a bag of money from an ATM courier on Oct. 7, right before 1 p.m. Their heist at 15411 Wallisville Road was a bold daylight operation, with a fourth accomplice, not in camo, but sporting a distinct black and yellow Iowa Hawkeyes jacket, according to a report by Click2Houston.
The thieves appear to have planned their operation, waiting for the courier to approach the ATM before executing their scheme. After taking the cash, they quickly fled to a getaway vehicle parked nearby. The details of the vehicle and the exact amount of money stolen have not been disclosed. The four suspects are described as Black males, aged between 17 and 20, with thin to medium builds, according to a description shared by the FBI Houston on their social media channels. The suspects' faces have also been circulated on CW39's website.
In an initiative to catch these perpetrators, Crime Stoppers of Houston is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the capture and conviction of the individuals involved in this incident.
