An early morning accident in Rochester Hills has left a 72-year-old pedestrian in serious condition, officials said. The incident occurred around 6:45 a.m. yesterday at the intersection of Rochester Road and Avon Road, where a man wearing a reflective vest at a marked crosswalk was struck by a 2013 Ford Focus, as reported by FOX 2 Detroit.
The driver, identified as a 28-year-old Colombian national, hit the man who was immediately taken to a hospital; the Oakland County Sheriff's Office confirmed that despite the high-speed limit of 45 miles per hour in this commercial area, neither speed, alcohol nor drugs are considered as factors in the crash.
