A tragic incident in Henderson has taken the life of an 80-year-old pedestrian following a collision with an SUV in a shopping center parking lot. According to a news release from the City of Henderson, the collision occurred on Wednesday morning, while the pedestrian succumbed to injuries the following day.
The Henderson Police and Fire Departments were called to the scene at the 1600 block of West Warm Springs Road at about 11:41 a.m., where they discovered that the pedestrian had been struck by a reversing white Chevy SUV. The driver involved in the incident remained at the scene and cooperated fully with an investigators. The victim received immediate medical attention but later passed away at a local hospital, as reported by the City of Henderson.
Although speed and impairment are not believed to have played a role in this incident, it is being investigated as the nineteenth accident-related fatality for Henderson in 2024. The Henderson Police Department has not released further details about the investigation, pending the ongoing procedural work. The name of the decedent is withheld and will be announced by the Clark County Coroner’s Office once the next of kin is notified, as per the City of Henderson.
