In an update that has undoubtedly brought relief to many, the Fort Worth Police Department announced via social media that Jermaine Deshawn Robinson, the man reported kidnapped just days ago, has been found and is in the process of being reunited with his family. The initial call for public assistance was urgently made after Robinson was reportedly abducted at gunpoint last Friday. The Fort Worth Police shared that Robinson, a 46-year-old African American male, was last seen early that morning at the address of 4515 Village Creek Road.
Required assistance stretched across the community as the Fort Worth Police Department actively sought out information that might lead to Robinson's whereabouts and safety. Robinson is described as 5'5" tall and weighing 230 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. The man alleged to have kidnapped him, DMarshae Leontay Jenkins, was described by police as a 27-year-old African American male, 5'04" in height, weighing 140 pounds, also with black hair and brown eyes. The Fort Worth Police Department's statement made mention of the vehicle involved, a blue 2012 Hyundai Sonata with the Texas license plate SLM-9668, and indicated that Robinson's information had been entered into the TCIC/NCIC databases.
Details on how Robinson was located remain sparse, but the effectiveness of the public's vigilance and law enforcement's efforts are clear in this outcome. Swift sharing of information and a diligent community can sometimes pierce the shadow of such worrying events. The Fort Worth Police have not disclosed details regarding the circumstances of Robinson's discovery or whether Jenkins has been apprehended in connection with the kidnapping.
