
Deputies from the Alpine Sheriff's Station were alerted to a situation at Shadow Hills Elementary School in Alpine yesterday, where school administrators reported two students to have made threats against other students and staff, as mentioned in a press release from the San Diego County Sheriff's Office. The investigation into the incident began around 5:30 p.m. after the administration had pinpointed the students in question, whose parents were promptly contacted, and home safety checks were carried out.
The school has suspended the students involved as a precaution while further investigation unfolds. The threat assessment thus far has deemed the threats not credible, but extra patrols are scheduled around the school's perimeter for the following day, today. Officials take no chances regarding school safety and are showing a strong presence to reassure the school community.
As part of standard procedure, the Sheriff's Office has opted to withhold information regarding the minors involved in the incident, adhering to privacy concerns associated with ongoing youth investigations.
