Amazon Fresh Opens New Store in Citrus Heights, Features Local Brands and High-Tech ShoppingSource: Google Street View

The Sacramento area's grocery landscape has expanded with the introduction of a new Amazon Fresh location in Citrus Heights. Officially opened on Wednesday, the store is situated in the Sunrise Village Shopping Center on Sunrise Blvd and is set to operate from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, as reported by FOX40.

In a bid to welcome shoppers to its latest Northern California establishment, Amazon Fresh treated its earliest customers on launch day. According to ABC10, the first individual in line received a $100 Amazon gift card, with the subsequent 99 customers being gifted with $5, $10, or $15 cards. The opening festivities included games and activities that concluded around 7 p.m.

Stockton Young, Amazon Fresh Regional Manager, emphasized the importance of customer experience. "This opening invites customers in Greater Sacramento to experience grocery shopping with Amazon Fresh, both in-store and online. We’re excited for customers to see our wide selection of national brands, high-quality produce, and curated array of their favorite local items and fresh-prepared meals," Young told ABC10.

The store boasts an assortment not limited to familiar national labels, as it also provides a stage for more than 500 regional brands, including Equator Coffees and 4505 Meats. New technological convenience features, including the Amazon Dash Cart and Amazon One, are at shoppers’ disposal, laying the path for a modernized shopping journey. Shoppers browsing the aisles can also look forward to savings, especially Amazon Prime members who benefit from discounts on a rotation of over 3,000 grocery items weekly, "including up to 50% off on eight to 15 grocery favorites," Griffin Buch of Amazon Communications, Worldwide Grocery Stores, highlighted in an effort to build exciting relationships with the customers. Food surplus from the store will be donated to the Sacramento Food Bank, added Stockton Young in a statement obtained by ABC10.

With this Citrus Heights store, the third to open in Northern California behind those in Roseville and Elk Grove, Amazon Fresh continues its push into the brick-and-mortar grocery sector. The incorporation of regional products alongside national and in-house brands represents Amazon’s strategy to cater to both broad and local tastes, providing shoppers with a variety of options spanning from everyday staples to specialty items. This new location, nestled at 5425 Sunrise Blvd., extends the company's physical retail footprint while also reinforcing its commitment to community engagement through partnerships with local entities like the Sacramento Food Bank.
