A routine gathering among neighbors tragically turned violent in southeast Houston late Friday night as an argument swiftly escalated into gunfire, resulting in two individuals sustaining injuries. According to FOX 26 Houston, the incident occurred shortly before 9 p.m. at 2235 Des Jardines, where the neighbors had been imbibing before a dispute broke out. In a flash of anger, one of the parties involved resorted to pulling a weapon and shooting the other two.
Both victims, whom police reported were shot - one in the buttocks and one in the leg - were quickly transported to the hospital. The expectancy is for them to recover from their injuries. Lt. Willkens of the Houston Police Department informed that the shooter didn't flee the scene but instead stayed and was apprehended by police.
This development was echoed by CW39, which noted the shooting took place in the Gulfgate area of southeast Houston. It also specified that the argument had been among three neighbors outside at the 2230 block of Des Jardines Street.
Authorities have yet to to formally charge the suspect, with no charges announced as of yesterday morning. The suspect's identity has not been disclosed, nor the details leading up to the altercation that resulted in gunfire.
