In a stroke of cold luck, Arizona Snowbowl has kicked off its season well ahead of schedule, opening its doors, or rather, its slopes to eager ski and snowboard enthusiasts on Nov. 8, owing largely to a generous early November snowfall, with a significant assist from their snowmaking tech. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, the resort received a full foot of the chilly white stuff on Nov. 6, allowing the premature but very welcome start to the winter festivities.

This season marks the earliest opening in the resort's venerable 86-year history the excitement is palpable and, as a fresh powder enthusiast, this could only be seen as a sign of good things to come. "Essentially, our snowmaking kicked off this year on October 18 our cruise have been working around the clock as much as possible watching this temp and making so whatever possible and then as you can tell, we’ve gotten some bonus snow from other nature and so we’re ready to rock," Angie Grubb, director of marketing at Snowbowl, heralded the season's early launch, in a statement obtained by Yahoo! Sports.

Seven trails were ready to roll for adventurers as of Saturday, with the resort drumming up more excitement through tantalizingly affordable lift tickets, available for just $19 a pop. Snowbowl has committed to a 9 AM to 4 PM daily schedule to accommodate its guests, as detailed by Yahoo! Sports.
