On Sunday, an armed parolee with an extensive criminal background led Vallejo police on a chase that ended with his arrest and the recovery of methamphetamine, ammunition, and an illegal firearm. The Vallejo Police Department (VPD) reported that its Patrol Division was tipped off about a parolee-at-large, considered armed and dangerous and wanted for multiple violent crimes.

VPD officers spotted the suspect, driving a 1998 Acura Integra near Admiral Callaghan Lane and Rotary Way. Still, when they tried to pull him over, the parolee spurred a short chase, refusing to surrender. His dog loyally followed him after he abandoned the vehicle and attempted to escape across the busy lanes of I-80. His efforts were in vain, as he was promptly arrested while trying to clear the center median. The man asked police to bring his dog to his ex-wife after his arrest, a request the officers honored, as detailed by the Vallejo Police Department's social media post.

Further investigation by the officers on the scene led to the discovery of methamphetamine, a pipe typically used to consume the drug, and ammunition in the parolee’s possession. A loaded firearm, with its serial number obliterated, was also found along the route he took while fleeing. They also searched his vehicle and discovered body armor.

Following the arrest, the parolee was booked into Solano County Jail, and all the prohibited items found were secured as evidence.
