The marquee development among these projects is the Martin House, a senior living facility set to receive a $20 million tax-exempt bond for its refurbishing, securing affordable living spaces for seniors for another three decades. At the other end of the housing spectrum, the Homes for the Future initiative and Atlanta Single Family Homes Affordable Preservation Project will both utilize Housing Opportunity Bond financing to focus on acquiring and renovating single-family homes, with plans to transition these units to affordable homeownership down the line.

Smaller in scale but no less significant, the 471 English Avenue project will revamp a quadruplex into six housing units designated for lower-income brackets, thanks to a $260,000 Westside Tax Allocation District (TAD) grant. "Safe, affordable housing is a primary determiner of economic mobility and quality of life for many Atlanta residents," Dr. Eloisa Klementich, president and CEO of Invest Atlanta, told the City of Atlanta's official website. She adds that children in stable, affordable homes have a significantly higher chance of academic success — a testament to the profound implications of these investments.

This string of investments contributes to the broader goal set by Mayor Dickens to deliver on the promise of 20,000 affordable housing units by 2030. Since 2022 alone, financing has been finalized for 4,581 units, summing up to a whopping $1.5 billion capital investment in housing.
