It's the annual Blanket Atlanta with Love Drive, an initiative that District 5 Commissioner Marvin Arrington Jr. regards as an essential outreach to those less fortunate in the community. "It's an opportunity for us to collect blankets, coats, socks, shoes, and toiletries for those who are in need," Arrington explained, according to the Fulton County website.
Yet, the act of giving is not one-dimensional, as the Commissioner emphasized, it is "an opportunity for us to reach out to the less fortunate, let them know that we care about them, and that we want to provide something for them," as noted on the county's website. Beyond the distribution of clothing and essentials, the drive expands to include health screenings, truly a full-service affair intended not just to provide but to uplift.
