
A tragic incident on Belair Road claimed the life of a 60-year-old pedestrian last Friday. The Baltimore Police Department reported that the woman was struck by a vehicle while attempting to navigate the street. The Baltimore Sun detailed the accident in the 1900 block of Belair Road.
Police responded to distress calls at approximately 6:55 p.m., with emergency services rushing the severely injured woman to a local hospital. Despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead, the police stated. The driver involved in the incident did not flee and remained at the scene, giving their account to the officers, WMAR-2 News reported.
Baltimore City Police detectives are now tasked with unraveling the circumstances that led to the woman's death. As of now, not much has been divulged about the findings of the ongoing investigation. Neither speed nor impairment have been ruled out, nor have they been confirmed as factors in the fatal event.
