
A man was shot in the thigh while entering a carryout in Baltimore's Northwest District, police say, stirring concerns in a community already wrestling with the specter of gun violence. The Baltimore Police Department reported that yesterday, around 3:24 p.m., district officers responded to an incident in the 2400 block of West Belvedere Avenue where a 36-year-old male victim sought treatment at a hospital for a gunshot wound.
According to the official report from the Baltimore Police Department, the Northwest District shooting detectives have taken over the investigation.
The department has made a public appeal for anyone with information about the shooting to come forward and contact the Northwest District detectives at 410-396-2466. In a bid to gather leads and assure confidentiality for potential informants, the police have also publicized alternate avenues for anonymous tips, including the Metro Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-866-7LOCKUP and an online option via the Metro Crime Stoppers website, where individuals can submit text tips anonymously.
