
Baltimore has a new addition to its judiciary, with Governor Wes Moore announcing the appointment of Marnell Allan Cooper to the Baltimore City District Court. In a move that further cements his commitment to drawing on local talent and expertise, Governor Wes Moore expressed confidence in Cooper's qualifications and background, "As a Baltimore native with exceptional legal expertise and deep ties to the community, Marnell will bring a wealth of knowledge to the district court," said Gov. Moore according to the announcement.
Marnell Allan Cooper comes to the bench with over two decades of legal practice, primarily working with civil litigation, general business law, and real estate law as a co-founder and partner at Palmer & Cooper, LLC, not to mention also serving as counsel to the Collins Legal Group, LLC where Cooper handles an array of civil litigation business disputes. Probate matters Cooper's career trajectory also includes a stint as a Baltimore City's Board of School Commissioners commissioner, during which he was instrumental in launching a significant school building campaign.
Cooper's local roots and educational background have been pivotal in shaping his understanding of Baltimore's legal landscape. He is a product of the city, having graduated with his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland College Park before taking his legal training at the University of Maryland School of Law.
