Two men from the Bay Area have been caught and cited for theft, fraud, and possession of counterfeit cash at a Colma business. The incident unfolded last Tuesday when officers responded to a theft in progress at a store located on Colma Boulevard. Upon arrival, they detained two males, who were positively identified by the store's loss prevention staff, for involvement in the incident, according to the Colma Police Department.
The suspects were found in the parking lot and arrested after the loss prevention officer confirmed their actions. The Colma Police detailed that the combined theft amounted to a substantial sum of $346.72. A counterfeit $100 bill was discovered during a search of one suspect, while the other was found with drug paraphernalia.
Najib Ghani, a 35-year-old resident of Pittsburg, faces charges of shoplifting, possession of drug paraphernalia, and conspiracy to commit a crime. In contrast, in addition to conspiracy, Ramon Rance, 61, from Daly City, was arrested for shoplifting and possession of counterfeit bills. Following the arrests, both men were issued citations and released on their promise to appear in court to face their respective charges.
