It's that time in Bay Village when the holiday season unfurls with a traditional welcome to the iconic Santa and Mrs. Claus duo. According to City of Bay Village officials, festivities are set to commence with the pleasant couple starting their journey atop a fire truck from the Bay Lodge on Bradley Road at 2:00 p.m.
The Clauses' tour—escorted by the local police cruiser—is expected to invoke smiles and holiday cheer across the community as they wind through the city streets. The cheerful caravan promises approximately two hours of waves, greetings, and a showcase of the holiday spirit to both the young and old alike. It will culminate in a community gathering at the Cahoon Memorial Park Gazebo, the traditional staging ground for the city's annual tree lighting ceremony.
In a gesture that harks back to timeless community celebrations, Santa and Mrs. Claus's arrival at the gazebo marks more than the start of the season's festivities; it’s a moment of togetherness and warmth in the crisp chill of late autumn. Their presence, as they join hands with the people of Bay Village to light the city holiday tree, symbolizes the onset of holiday joy, unity, and a brightening of the darker days that December often brings.
Residents are encouraged to mark their calendars for this special occasion, ensuring they don't miss out on this festive tradition. With the Historical Society and the Bay Village Kiwanis working jointly to spread holiday cheer, the event stands as a testament to the enduring community spirit. A shared sense of belonging and excitement is anticipated as the bright hues of sirens blend with the seasonal jingles and laughter that will soon echo through the streets.
