As the flames tore through the building on the 3600 block of A Street, over 85 firefighters converged on the scene to prevent further destruction and evacuate residents, battling not only the fire but also the challenges posed by forceful winds that threatened to exacerbate the situation, according to a report from ABC10.
In the aftermath of the fire, 32 apartment units across two buildings were evacuated. The first building sustained damage to all 16 of its units, with nine suffering major damage.
