The city of Brighton is all set to get into the holiday spirit with two upcoming back-to-back weekend events that are sure to bring festivity to the community. First up, the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony is slated for Saturday, Dec. 7, from 1-6 p.m. at Founders Plaza, located at 5 S. Main Street, followed by the 29th Annual Festival of Lights Parade on Saturday, Dec. 14, starting at 5 p.m. downtown.

At the Tree Lighting event, a Winter Market will kick off at 1 p.m., showcasing a selection of unique artists, crafters, and artisan food vendors. Vendor applications are open, but time is ticking, they will be accepted online until Nov. 22 for a fee of $50. Those interested can submit a vendor application through the city's website, as per the City of Brighton.

Additional festivities leading up to the tree lighting include various family-friendly activities available from 1-5 p.m., such as photos with Santa, free face painting, and The Teddy Bear & Friends Tree. Adding to the holiday cheer, Face Vocal Band, an internationally recognized all-vocal rock ensemble from Boulder, will be performing live from 4-5:30 p.m. on the FNBO stage on S. Main Street in front of Founders Plaza. The tree lighting, powered by United Power, will illuminate the evening at 5 p.m.

Following the tree lighting ceremony, the Festival of Lights Parade is expected to brighten the night on Dec. 14. This cherished hometown tradition brings together the community, displaying up to 65 parade entries in a dazzling exhibition of lights. The parade, which starts at 5 p.m., is a significant event in Brighton's festive calendar, and it brings downtown to life with its glittering presence.
