The two departments are teaming up for 'ELF and Friends,' a festive initiative aimed at providing a Merry Christmas to over 200 children in need within the community.
According to a social media post from Cedar Hill Police Department, residents can contribute by visiting designated tree locations, picking a tag that represents a child, and fulfilling the instructions to bestow a gift. The community outreach has been met with encouragement, as the force appeals to the public, "Please visit one of the tree locations, select a child (or a few), and follow directions on the tag to bless a Cedar Hill child."
The ELF (Everybody Loves Families) project is not a new endeavor. In past years, it has successfully rallied the community around the shared goal of bringing holiday cheer to those less fortunate.
