
A 17-year-old teen from the City of Cedarburg has been pronounced dead following a car crash early yesterday morning. The Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office confirmed the individual's death after responding to the incident on Bridge Rd., west of Granville Rd. Fox 6 Now reports that the crash occurred approximately at 7:40 a.m.
The single-vehicle crash, which is estimated to have taken place around 1:30 a.m., was not discovered until the morning hours when a passerby noticed the wreckage. According to a statement obtained by WTMJ, the teenager was pronounced deceased at the scene. The road was subsequently shut down to allow to thoroughly investigate the cause of the accident.
This tragedy led to a substantial impact on local traffic, with full closure being enforced in both directions of Bridge Rd., between Granville Rd. and Westridge Dr. The thoroughfare remained closed for about five hours, causing major delays throughout the community's Monday commute. The closure facilitated the investigation by law enforcement into the crash’s specifics.
