Earlier today, a homicide investigation was initiated by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department after officers were dispatched to the 4100 block of Revolution Park Drive. The call, an Assault with a Deadly Weapon, was made shortly after midnight and swiftly answered by authorities.
Upon their arrival, officers found a victim suffering from gunshot wounds. According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department official statement, MEDIC pronounced the victim dead at the scene, very little details about the victim's identity have been made public at this stage. The CMPD's Homicide Unit, alongside Crime Scene Search, are meticulously working the scene, gathering physical evidence to assist in the open investigation.
Detective Dossett has been designated as the lead detective on the case. With the investigation burgeoning, CMPD's Operations Command, Victim Services, MEDIC, and CFD all offer their expertise on-site to piece together the events that culminated in tragedy.
