Two individuals suspected of robbing an 80-year-old woman in March this year have been identified after a detailed investigation by Chino Hills detectives, as reported by a press release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department. The suspects, named Agapie Vidrel, 42, and Nadia Stroe, 47, allegedly approached the victim while she was seated in her vehicle in the Larios Meat Market parking lot.
The elderly woman, having just withdrawn money from a local bank, became a target when the suspects engaged her in distraction. As the female suspect opened the passenger door and attempted to take the victim's purse, a struggle ensued. However, the culprit relented and fled, the victim later discovering her money missing. The suspects, both transients, were pinpointed by detectives after following up on several leads, with warrants subsequently issued for their arrest on charges of robbery, elder abuse, and conspiracy.
After months of pursuit, Vidrel was taken into custody on October 9, incidentally during an unrelated police action in Orange County. A couple of weeks later, on October 23, Stroe was also apprehended in Orange County under similar circumstances. The authorities continue their appeal to the public, requesting any further information regarding the case.
