As an "atmospheric river" poured down on Citrus Heights, officers from the local Police Department mounted an operation aimed at curbing narcotics-induced activities in the community, according to a post from the Citrus Heights PD Facebook page. Last night, despite the deluge, the initiative included over 19 patrol checks in different locales encompassing parks and businesses, several stops and contacts with individuals, and thorough evaluations for suspected narcotics influence.
In the course of their operation, the Citrus Heights officers made multiple stops and conducted numerous evaluations they were proactive, focusing on areas known for illicit narcotics use and other related offenses. This sweep led to two arrests for driving under the influence of narcotics, highlighting the intersection of substance abuse and roadway safety, and one individual was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, a detail that underscores the potential for greater risks posed by individuals under the influence.
