The Clark County School District Police Department has shared news of a loss within their ranks: K9 Marley, a black American Labrador retriever who served alongside officers since 2020, has died. The 5-year-old dog passed away unexpectedly after being taken in for medical attention, according to Clark County School District Police Department Facebook post.
While details on the cause of Marley's death have not been disclosed, Marley was pronounced deceased at a local animal hospital. Throughout his years of service, Marley contributed to the safety of the school community and was a valued member of the K-9 team. "Marley will be missed not only by his fellow K-9 team and department members but the entire CCSD community," the Clark County School District Police Department expressed.
As a part of the Clark County School District Police Department since 2020, Marley's role involved a range of activities that supported school police operations. From detecting prohibited substances to participating in various community engagement initiatives.
