It secured a place on the 2024 AP School Honor Roll, graduating with Bronze distinction, an achievement signifying increased opportunity and academic rigor among its student body.
Principal Dr. Darryl Sanders spoke to the ethos that underpins CAHS, stating, "CAHS has always provided a culture and climate that challenges students to transcend mediocrity and embrace academic excellence," in a statement obtained by the Columbus City School's official website. Under this ethos, 54% of CAHS seniors have engaged with at least one AP exam, with a substantial 27% scoring a three or higher, critical for college credit, and a dedicated 2% taking a hefty five or more of these college-level tests during their high school tenure.
