
Tragedy has once again struck the community as Darreion Davis, a 24-year-old man, succumbed to his injuries following a shooting that occurred in the 1900 block of Deborah Ct. yesterday. Davis was pronounced dead at 6:43 pm, leading to an upgrade in charges against the suspect in the case, Alise Schlaegel, who is now facing a count of murder. According to a Columbus Division of Police statement, Schlaegel, a 20-year-old woman, was initially charged with Felonious Assault and is currently held at the Franklin County Jail.
The incident, which has rattled the local community, occurred late on Monday. Columbus Patrol Officers responded to reports of a shooting around 11:19 pm, where they discovered Davis with a life-threatening gunshot wound. Despite being rushed to an area hospital, Davis's fight for life came to a tragic end when he passed away two days later. The Columbus Police Homicide Unit, now led by Detective Vogel, continued their investigation into the circumstances of the shooting. Detective Poliseno joins them in their efforts.
